AN Monday: Blue or Green

Hey y'all! :D So the theme for this month's AN Mondays, is Aussie Indie Month - showing our love for all the Aussie indie brands that support our polish addiction :P My Indie collection is only at about 30 bottles and only half are Aussie, but I'll try and make do with what I have! First up is "Blue or Green".

For someone who's a total purple junky, surprisingly, almost half my Aussie indie collection is blue! So I threw them all on the table and picked one at random :P

This gorgeous little number is Emily De Molly When Planets Collide. This is 2 coats layered over 1 coat of Revlon Royal. Though technically, from what I can see, it's actually a black jelly base, but it's so filled with blue glitter I classified it as blue :P !

I also tried for some nail art using BYS Diamond Glitter Opal, Max Factor Royal Blue and some striping tape.

Aaaaaand, I also have the last two weeks' AN Monday combined into one mani: Graveyard/ Your Choice, to finish off the October Halloween Month. Fingers crossed this month I'm on time with all my AN Mondays! :D

Blue Swatch-athon

Mornin' everyone! For today's post, I have lots and lots (and lots!) of pictures to share with y'all! I was so excited to have received my Emily De Molly order and my swap package from Jen on Monday, I got straight into swatching to show you all :D It just so happened that at least half the polishes were blue, so a BLUE swatch-athon it is!

Nail mail makes me happy :D

First up is a gorgeous, absolutely stunning, blue/ purple duochrome Butter London Scouse.

The colour shift is a lot stronger in the bottle, and was terribly hard to capture on my nails. But I managed to capture a hint of the purple where the sun was hitting my nails.

You can see the hint of purple peeking through on the edge ^^

I took at least 80 photos of these outside and wanted to show you all at least 20, but controlled myself and chose the best 4 shots I had. I hope the photos did the polish justice, because I'm absolutely in love with it *swoons*

Next up is a blue mix-n-match mani using glitter toppers, loose glitter, fine glitter polish and flakies over a bright royal blue Sinful Colors Endless Blue.

The glitter on the index finger is China Glaze Mosaic Madness from the Glitz-Bitz 'n Pieces Collection; the loose glitter on the middle finger I ordered from the Born Pretty Store online; the ring finger is topped with Revlon Galactic from the Moon Candy collection; and the pinky is one coat of Butter London Scallywag (another new favourite!).

Can you tell I like blue yet? :P

Last but not least is a squishy blue jelly jam packed with glitter, Emily De Molly Turbulence.

This is 2 coats over 1 coat of Revlon Royal. It is absolutely stunning, with so much depth!

It's so squishy and sparkly too, it's actually quite distracting :P

A shot in the daylight

*Phew. That was a lot of photos. But I hoped y'all enjoyed the swatches as much as I loved staring at them on my nails :P

Light It Up Blue #BlueNailsForAutism P2

   Apologies.
   Apologies.
   OTL

It's been more than a week since I've posted and I apologize for such a long gap! The weather's quickly turning cold here in Australia (hello Autumn!) and I've been feeling rather sick lately, and so I've momentarily halted my #bluenailsforautism ):

I do however, have these 2 blue manis from last week that I pushed out before the sicky-bug found me (grabbed me, held me, and hasn't let go since).

For this first design I used Australis Sky's The Limit, Ulta3 Blue Marlin, Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea, BC Co. Shade 12 and black acrylic paint for the geometric pattern on top.

I was at a loss for inspiration so I painted the different blues in random shapes on my nail and topped it off with random black lines. Turned out pretty well in my opinion :P

This second mani is simply Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea topped with Essence Prince Charming from the Snow White collection.

It's simple but quite dazzling at the same time don't you think?

I'm feeling a lot better today, I've had my fluids, my medicine and rested a lot (and switched from my thin summer blankets to my winter comforter ...so much warmer in bed  now!) so nail art should be back on track!

Light It Up Blue #BlueNailsForAutism

Hey y'all! Happy April! (I know it's technically not a celebration you're supposed to greet people with and celebrate, but hey, whatever, Happy April alright! :P)

So a bunch of ladies from a nail facebook group I'm a part of decided to "Paint it Blue" for April Autism Awareness Month. It now has it's own separate facebook group and Instagram hashtag (#BlueNailsForAutism) for everyone to share their blue manicures in support.

Some ladies have decided to do just April 2nd, whilst others have decided to make it a weekly blue mani sort of thing. I have chosen to do a blue mani everyday (or every time I change my polish) for the whole month of April *crosses fingers* here's to hoping I have enough blue polish, or enough creative juices to push out 30 different manis!

I've decided to post these 3-5 manis at a time, to avoid posting 30 seperate posts. So first up was a blue gradient  (using Rubi Dirty Dianna, BC Co Shade 21 and Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea) topped with Different Dimension Light It Up Blue (For Autism).

Next was a blue striped gradient using Sinful Colors Black on Black, Rubi Dirty Dianna, BC Co Shade 21, Australis Sky's The Limit, Coral Colours Honeydew and Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea.

Third up was a blue glitter-chevron-french tip mani using Ulta3 Blue Marlin and Julep Claire as the base colours, topped with Different Dimension Boo, You Whore (don't you just love its name?!)

And for today's NOTD I give y'all a blue floral mani using Candice's (MrCandiipants) technique of using the brush from the bottle to paint the little flowers on :D I used Ulta3 Soft Hydrangea as my base, and for the flowers I used Essence Grumpy, Australis Sky's The Limit and BC Co Shade 21.

Hope y'all don't get sick of all the blue, and if interested, join in on the #BlueNailsForAutism (:

Blue as a half moon manicure

Today, I have more bright, colourful nails for you all! And yes I wore them to work haha (and p.s. no, I don't know what I meant in the title either, it just sounded right :P)

The design for this wasn't planned, all I wanted was to keep with the "blue" theme and somehow this came out. I used BYS "Blue" (a colour changing polish) for the base, Essence "Grumpy" for the blue curtains on each nail and BYS "Diamond Glitter Opal" for the half moon.

I didn't like these at first. I thought they made my nails look chunky and down right ugly. But somehow, while at work, they grew on me, and I ended up loving them.

I'm so in love with wearing such colourful and bright eye catching colours to work, so be warned, this colour streak may last a while!
